Advanced SAT Literature Reading for 10/11th Graders

The advanced class covers required SAT reading list to better prepare students for PSAT, SAT, or/and ACT standard tests. It is designed for advanced 10th or 11th Graders who have completed Critical Reading and Writing Class, and who would like to get themselves ready for the challenging Literature Reading in SAT/PSAT.

The Advanced Reading Class focused on preparing students for the SAT/ACT tests through literary exploration and reading.  The skills learned in this class can be applied to not only the SAT/ACT tests, but also to AP Language and AP Literature exams, and other literary activities. In this class, students explore literature (and other subjects reading, science or history) in a workshop model and through Socratic Seminars. Students will gain a sophisticated understanding for classic and meaningful, relevant literature that is required in SAT and PSAT test. The teacher is using Socratic and Harkness teaching method in this class.
